Four Iraqi soldiers were killed and two others were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) blew up near an Iraqi army convoy on Saturday (January 26th) in al-Haswa, west of the capital Baghdad, police said.

"An IED placed at a rainwater drain exploded in the central town area as an Iraqi army convoy passed on its way to a military base," al-Haswa police chief Lt. Col. Khalid al-Zawbaaie told Al-Shorfa.

A personnel carrier was burnt in the blast, which "carries al-Qaeda's clear fingerprints", he said.

The eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved, and we are indeed grieved by the separation from these four soldiers, and we will not say except that which pleases Allah. To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return. But we would like to take a stance together on this respected site. We have to respect the security officers for what they are doing for the sake of Iraq and for us in terms of sacrifices to the point of even giving their lives, as we are witnessing and reading now.

Bombings are gathering intensity and are taking place across all Iraq and no one knows the reason behind them. What happens happens and that is the end. These bombings that are all over the place in Iraq must be scrutinized in order to get rid of these crimes. We know that all of these bombings are not triggered by violence or riots but are actually aimed at disposing of the Iraqi soldiers. This is a no brainer and anyone could fathom it. May God punish everyone who contributed to these bombings and may God grant mercy on the Iraqi soldiers. I wish that the Iraqi army will take revenge for those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their country Iraq.

The disaster has happened after killing the Iraqi soldiers near Baghdad. Those brave men should have never died in this horrible way. The murder of the Iraqi soldiers needs a lot of patience in adopting the necessary requirements to take retribution for the murder of those soldiers, who must not have ended in this way. The Iraqi people need to take their rights from the perpetrators. Those soldiers have mothers who scream over the departure of their children. They want revenge and this is their right. We ask God to have mercy upon those brave soldiers. I also demand the Iraqi soldiers to do what is necessary to protect the Iraqi soldiers from being killed in this way.
