A mortar attack on Wednesday (January 16th) killed a relative of a Sahwa forces leader near Ramadi, Anbar police said.

On Wednesday night, two mortar shells fell on the house of Sheikh Hameed al-Hayes, "a prominent Sahwa leader in Albu Thiyab, north of Ramadi", Anbar police spokesman Col. Rahim Zaban told Al-Shorfa.

The attack, which occurred "just one day after a similar attack targeted his house", also wounded three policemen protecting al-Hayes, Zaban added.

Al-Hayes, the head of the Sahwa forces' Anbar Rescue Council, was unhurt in the incident, Zaban said.
