Three Iraqi soldiers were killed Wednesday (December 26th) in a blast in the northern province of Ninawa, the Iraqi army said.

"An improvised explosive device (IED) on the side of the road blew up as an army military patrol passed in al-Hamdaniya, north of Mosul, killing the three soldiers inside the vehicle and burning the vehicle itself," Ninawa military command spokesperson Lt. Col. Abdul Rahim al-Atwani told Al-Shorfa.

"A military unit chased four [men] suspected of involvement in the blast and managed to arrest two of them while the other two fled," he added.
