An Iraqi officer was killed and four other soldiers were wounded Tuesday (December 18th) when a bomb exploded in Abu Ghraib, west of Baghdad, police said.

"An improvised explosive device (IED) targeted an army patrol on a routine mission in al-Resala neighbourhood in central Abu Ghraib," Abu Ghraib police chief Col. Sabah al-Falahi told Al-Shorfa.

"A support police force succeeded in arresting a suspect -- believed to be behind the bombing that targeted the army patrol -- with a remote control in his possession," he said.
