Four Iraqi soldiers were killed when a landmine exploded near their vehicle in al-Zawiyah, west of Fallujah, an Iraqi military spokesperson said Saturday (December 15th).

"A landmine targeted a military vehicle carrying four soldiers as they returned with a large military force from a search operation in the forest area west of Fallujah," Lt. Col. Nejim al-Dulaimi, the Iraqi army spokesperson in Anbar, told Al-Shorfa.

The army cordoned off the scene of attack and launched a campaign in search of the perpetrators, he said.
