Jordan's King Abdullah II on Monday (December 10th) urged young Jordanians to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, The Jordan Times reported.

"You, the youth, have the responsibility to hold coming legislatures and parliamentary governments to account, judging them by the degree of their commitment to implementing their electoral platforms to address the problems and challenges you face," the king said in his address at a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the University of Jordan.

The king said young Jordanians can take part in decision-making in the country by spreading awareness about the vitality of change, and by identifying and debating the challenges the country faces.

"The aim is to work out solutions that should be incorporated in programmes to be voted on in the upcoming parliamentary elections," he said.
