Security forces have arrested four Ansar al-Islam gunmen and seized weapons and explosives found in their possession, the Iraqi police in Kirkuk province said Saturday (November 17th).

The gunmen were planning to transfer the explosives to the central town area to carry out bombings, they said.

"The police attacked a residential building in the town of al-Riyadh, south of Kirkuk, after receiving information about the presence of terrorist fighters in the building," police spokesperson Col. Salam al-Jaf told Al-Shorfa.

Police found one explosives vest, rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and metal tins filled with explosives at the house, he said.
