The Iraqi police in Kirkuk province said Thursday (November 1st) that police arrested five suspected Ansar al-Sunna gunmen in a security operation in Hawija district, southern Kirkuk.

"The detainees represent a cell specialising in assassinations using silencer-equipped guns, and they were found when the force stormed a commercial building where they were staying," Kirkuk police spokesperson Col. Salam al-Jaf told Al-Shorfa.

Police found explosives and about 60 million dinars ($51,500) inside the building.
