A suspect billed as "a leading al-Qaeda figure" was killed Tuesday (October 30th) in a clash with the Iraqi army in Ninawa, the province's military command spokesperson Lt. Col. Abdul Rahim al-Atwani told Al-Shorfa.
"A military force tried to arrest Yasser Khalaf after he entered the area from a neighbouring country," al-Atwani said. "However, he refused to surrender and clashed with army troops. As a result, he was killed and three soldiers were wounded."
"Khalaf was involved in many terrorist attacks in Mosul and a number of other cities," he said.
The force found weapons and a few explosives in his possession, al-Atwani added. They were apparently used for Khalaf's personal protection, "not for carrying out terrorist attacks".

Terrorists possess a deviant ideology which has nothing to do with any specific nation, body or religion. In fact, all religions are innocent of the crimes which are committed by these criminals against the unarmed citizens without any prior knowledge. They are murdered by human monsters who have nothing to do with any nation, religion or human race. Indeed, terrorism is a violent act which is carried out by terrorists against whoever contradicts with their opinion or behaves in a non-bloody way. Thus, everyone thinks that once the word “terrorism” is uttered, it will be followed by curses on the tyrant dictatorial ideologies of terrorists which are weird to any human who has got a heart and a brain that rule all their acts and behaviors.
