Security forces arrested six people suspected of carrying out terrorist acts in Diyala province, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said Friday (September 21st).

"A force from the first brigade of the interior ministry's rapid intervention forces carried out a raid and search operation in Baqubah, the capital of Diyala province, and arrested six wanted people as per article four of the anti-terrorism law," the ministry said in a statement obtained by Al-Shorfa.

According to the statement, the detainees are now under investigation and have been charged with belonging to al-Qaeda and engaging in terrorist acts.
