The Iraqi Ministry of Transport said Tuesday (September 18th) that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Hungary to open new air routes between Baghdad and Budapest.

The agreement comes as part of the Iraqi government efforts to open the country up to different world countries, a ministerial statement said.

The joint air routes aim to help activate economic co-operation between the two countries and facilitate the travel of Iraqi residents and students to Hungary and nearby countries, the statement added.
