UN-Arab League special envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi visited Tuesday (September 18th) Syrian refugees in a Turkish camp on the border with Syria, AFP reported.
The visit was Brahimi's first official encounter with some of the thousands of Syrian refugees who have fled the violence in their country.
Brahimi met with representatives of the 1,300 refugees at Altinozu camp in Hatay city.
Turkish officials were expected to brief the special envoy on the condition of the refugees and their needs. The Turkish government had said it will need international support to maintain its current level of aid.
Turkey is already home to some 83,000 registered refugees in several camps in the southeast region bordering Syria, but has said it can handle no more than 100,000 refugees.

The Arab League must put quick laws in place pertaining to the issue of the Syrian refugees in particular, and the Arab refugees in general. Everyday, we see thousands of Syria displaced citizens fleeing to neighboring countries and always Jordan and Lebanon have the largest share of refugees. This is what must be solved immediately, either to provide each country a part of the Syrians refugees or help neighbors effectively and quickly. Their shelters are not fit to live in as humans. They must be provided with least ingredients that they can live with, such as food and clothing and provide them with health care, while the escape of the Syrians to Turkey has seemed problematic, especially the Turks who have assets belonging to the origins of the corrupt family of Bashaar. Therefore, we must accelerate the protection of the Syrian citizens and they find what they escape from is in Turkey. We, as a nation, are gathered by the Arab League and we must not retreat in this case at all. If we cannot stop this brutal aggression of this murderer President, we must support them and support the logistical problems they face. It is not only the Syrian refugee who is facing problems, we as an Arab nation also possess the largest number of refugees fleeing their country, whether because of war or because of security problems. Frequently, there are political refugees who left their country only because of the suppression of their political freedom in their country. All of these problems facing the Arab nation must be taken seriously. There is no doubt that these problems are the sub problems that are not like the resistance, which can be remedied in one way or another as long as the Arab silence will be the master of the situation before the momentous issues that face the refugees' issues by issuing laws giving the right to the refugees to live.

The bloody scene of Syria raises the grief of the Arab nation and they should not stand helpless, but they should move to save the Syrian refugees and fulfill their basic needs. We see also Arab countries on the scene working on helping the refugees and achieving their basic demands at least. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan stated that he was establishing the Emirati hospital in Jordan as a field hospital especially for this task, and this is the best example of the effectiveness to move in this regard, which falls within general politics for the country under the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed. Of course, Jordan has welcomed many refugees and it has the largest portion, but in spite of that, Jordan has announced its need for more than millions of dollars to help the refugees, and Lebanon hosted thousands of refugees, although the number is decreasing due to the return of the refugees to their homelands; but Lebanon needs quick financial help for the refugees.
