Yemeni Defence Minister Mohammed Nasser Ahmed survived a car bomb attack Tuesday (September 11th) that hit his convoy near the government headquarters in Sanaa, AFP reported.
Twelve people were killed in the attack, including seven of Ahmed's guards.
The news agency said a car bomb detonated just 200 metres away from the entrance of government headquarters, next to the eastern wall of the Sanaa radio station.
Many cars, including vehicles belonging to government employees, were burnt, the report said.
The minister survived another suicide bombing targeting a military parade he attended on May 21st, which killed around 100 soldiers.
