Syrian troops fired at least 25 shells that struck a Lebanese village on the northern border Friday (August 31st), wounding one person and causing damage, AFP reported.
The firing targeted the village of Menjez in the Akkar region early Friday morning, Toni Antonios, an elected official in the area, told AFP.
"We have been the target for months of stray bullets and shelling which have displaced families who no longer dare go home. This is unacceptable," Antonios said.
