Jordanian officials said Sunday (August 19th) that four Syrian rockets landed inside the kingdom's northern border region, wounding a four-year-old girl, AFP reported.
Jordan's Information Minister Samih Maaytah said Jordanian officials contacted their Syrian counterparts to determine what happened.
"The Jordanian government summoned the Syrian ambassador in Amman and gave him a letter of protest," Maaytah said.
Zayed Hammad, president of the Kitab Wal Sunna charity in Jordan which provides aid for 50,000 Syrian refugees along the border, said the rockets fell on the village of Torrah and injured several people.
