A Yemeni military official said Thursday (August 16th) that 62 soldiers loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh's son face charges of attempting to take over Yemeni Defence Ministry headquarters, Yemen's Al-Tagheer reported.
Maj. Gen. Ali al-Obaidi of Yemen's High Security Committee said that 62 members of the Republican Guard will be brought to trial for their suspected role in the Tuesday attack on Defence Ministry headquarters in Sanaa that killed five people.
"The political motives of some factions in Yemen were behind the attack," he said.
