At least ten al-Qaeda fighters were killed Monday and Tuesday (August 7th-8th) in Yemen, including an explosives specialist, AFP reported Tuesday.

Mohsin bin Jamila, a member of the local administration in Jaar, Abyan province, told the news agency that two al-Qaeda fighters were killed and three others were arrested when the army and members of pro-government popular committees on Tuesday raided a house where the fighters were fortified in central Jaar.

One of the men arrested later died of his wounds, bin Jamila said.

"The terrorist Abdullah Awad al-Masri, also known as Abu Osama al-Maaribi, was killed in a carefully-planned operation in Bayda province," According to Saba, Yemen's official news agency.

The operation took place on Monday, Saba said.

The news agency said that al-Maaribi was "in charge of an explosives-making workshop and is one of the most dangerous al-Qaeda elements in Bayda province", south-east of Sanaa.

Six other al-Qaeda members died in the operation, Saba said, including Bahraini Abu Jaafar al-Iraqi, Saudi Abu al-Bara al-Sharouri, Egyptians Abu Musab al-Masri and Abu Hafsa al-Masri, Tunisian Abu Hafsa al-Tunisi and Yemeni Ibrahim al-Sakhi.

Facing Al-Qaeda is a great danger and not easy because Al-Qaeda has many soldiers and weapons. Confrontation between Al-Qaeda and the Yemeni Army will result in the death of many people from both. There are many questions about this issue between many people who care for this issue which is if Al-Qaeda will win or the victory will be for the Yemeni Army. Some people say that Al-Qaeda is stubborn and it will not surrender easily, and it has the ability to stand against any attacks so that the Yemeni Army collects a lot of the forces to face Al-Qaeda. Who will win in facing the other? This is the question now because it is not an easy confrontation. I cannot give assurance that one of them will win and the evidence is what happened as a result of the clashes between both as well as the death of the soldiers from the Yemeni Army and Al-Qaeda. These clashes will stay and Al-Qaeda will not surrender easily. However, this violence makes a state of fear between the citizens and disrupts the economic movement in Yemen. That is why the Yemeni Army should study the situation very well to determine the gains and losses from these clashes in order not to affect the army and the country because the state of the army is the state of the country. Al-Qaeda is known with many situations from which it proved to be a strong army and it is difficult to face it.

It is very important to provide as much help for the Yemeni people as possible especially since Yemen is suffering from so much harm that hit its sectors. Yemen, until now, is not able to develop itself as a result of the lack of providing the needed resources which will develop the country. They are in need of financial help to develop the Yemeni sectors that are in need of development to improve the conditions of the country. The Yemeni citizens are in need of the provision of food staff as well as medical aids and military aids that the Yemeni Forces need to face terrorism especially since terrorism is the cause of many problems in Yemen. It is the cause of increasing poverty and unemployment that the Yemeni people suffered from and that is because they ruined the social life. The Arab governments should increase the helping level for the Yemeni people and that is what they should do to develop Yemen and reconstruct it.
