Twenty suspected al-Qaeda members arrested in Salah al-Din

Iraqi police and army forces in Salah ad-Din on Friday (August 3rd) arrested 20 suspected al-Qaeda members in a security operation, Interior Ministry officials said.

"The operation was based on accurate information provided by assistants of al-Qaeda deputy general commander Wissam Karim Shallal, who was arrested by security forces the day before yesterday," said ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Adel Dahham.

The suspects were arrested at four houses in Tikrit, Samarra and Baiji, Dahham said, adding that they had rockets, improvised explosive devices and various explosives in their possession.

I call on the Iraqi Government to eradicate terrorism through an intensive effort to find out who is using terrorism and to use the honorable troops as well as the good and continuous planning to resolve this problem, to know the source of risk, to try to control and completely eradicate terrorism because this terrorism threatens the security of the country and the citizens, and it significantly affects the economy of the Iraqi State. There are many young people, children and women who are threatened with death and the citizen could not exercise his normal life because of this terrorism. The government must protect the Iraqis, protect the lives, secure the country well, and make continued patrols on the streets and in the roads to preserve the integrity of the citizens for a better future free of bloodshed and murder.

Al-Qaeda is considered the most dangerous and the most severe terrorist organization that any Arab country has ever known. Osama bin Laden was the founder of this organization, and then he became the chairman. This organization has been formed by a great number of mercenaries of different nationalities. They have only been gathered for one purpose, which is to compensate their failures in all life matters and all its areas, as well as in an attempt to succeed in the killing, the slaughter, and the violation of human rights. The country that has suffered more from the great damage of Al-Qaeda is the ancient land of Iraq, in which they spread between the death and the misery on its roads. They have changed Iraq from a great and prosperous land to which people come from the whole world to learn something about its civilization; now it has become a poor land, and its people are unable to live decent lives. It has now become full of crises, whether the housing crisis, the crisis of employment or the crisis of a decent life. The issue that drives anyone crazy and surprises them is that this origination, with the huge number of brutal and bloody crimes it has committed since it has arrived in the different Arab countries, has thrown all this on the holy Islamic religion. They claimed that all the crimes and brutality were justified, in order to defend the great and righteous Islam, and applied the Islamic law the right way on the Arab territories. However, which law is it that recommends the killing and the slaughter of the innocent people without any right?

A great joy has filled the atmosphere of the noble Iraq and overwhelmed the neighboring Iraqi citizens’ hearts after the victory of the special Iraqi Forces with a support from the men of the Iraqi Government over the terrorism on the territory of Iraq. Also, the complete elimination of all the terrorist groups and the brutal extremist organizations that have previously occupied the land of the beloved Iraq that went on the Iraqi roads shedding the innocent Iraqi blood and totally devastating the Iraqi live spirit. Therefore, there is the extent and the amount of the sufferance and the tragedies that the great Iraqi people have lived because of the criminality of these brutal terrorist organizations. The brutal terrorists cannot be estimated and described. Thus, these terrorist organizations have been greatly creative in their constant work on the death of the Iraqi people and killing the spirit of life and ambition in the hearts and pulses of all the Iraqi citizens that has caused the massive destruction that hit all the areas and the scientific ground in Iraq. But now, at this time, the Iraqi Forces have achieved a great victory by completely defeating terrorism in Iraq after great and continuous efforts continued. Words are not enough to congratulate every Iraqi citizen on the defeat of terrorism in their country.

The terrorism in Iraq is threatening comes through different areas in Iraqis' life, especially its danger on the national security. This will drastically affect the Iraqi politics, whether the domestic or the foreign one. All of these terrorist operations have certainly an impact on Iraq's foreign relations and will negatively affect its economy and its position within the International Community.
