Two Fallujah policemen were killed and four others were wounded Thursday (August 2nd) in an armed attack targeting a police checkpoint in the city, Anbar police officials said.

"Gunmen attacked a police checkpoint near the al-Hadra al-Mohammedia intersection in central Fallujah, killing two policemen and seriously wounding four others," Anbar police spokesperson Col. Rahim Zaban told Al-Shorfa.

He said the gunmen used silencer-equipped guns during the attack, which he blamed on al-Qaeda.
