Unknown gunmen assassinated an Iraqi journalist working for a Mosul-based satellite television station on Monday (July 30th).

Ninawa police spokesperson Col. Khalid al-Hamdani told Al-Shorfa that "Ghazwan Anas, a journalist working as a talk show host for Sama al-Mosul satellite television station, was killed in an attack launched by gunmen on his house in the Sumer neighbourhood, south-eastern Mosul."

Al-Hamdani said that "police believes there are terrorist motives behind the crime" and that security forces are conducting an investigation to identify those involved.
