Iraqi forces crack down on al-Qaeda cell

Iraqi security forces launched a large-scale operation on Tuesday (July 31st) to crack down on an al-Qaeda-affiliated cell accused of launching 20 terrorist attacks in the southern provinces, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said.

"The campaign was launched after security forces discovered an active, dangerous, 40-member al-Qaeda cell headquartered in Diwaniya and possessing the logistical capability to carry out large-scale terrorist attacks," Col. Hikmat Mahmoud al-Masari, director of media and communications at the ministry, told Al-Shorfa.

Al-Masari said the 3,000 security personnel who took part in the crackdown made progress "in the first hours of operation in terms of intelligence gathering, as a number of cell elements were identified and are now being swiftly hunted down before they carry out more terrorist attacks".

How much innocent blood has been shed on the roads by the treachery of the terrorist organizations and their men to the people in the Arab countries and in particular the neighboring Iraq? Those terrorist organizations have emerged very recently, putting in front of her the conquest of the hearts of the Arabs as a goal. And the journey of murder and destruction started in the sad Iraq from the loss of its distinguished youth. What happened to these terrorist organizations that began its road of crimes and domination like a guardian Angel that have come to protect the Muslims and Islam? People have gathered from different religions from all across the world and who are painting religiosity and commitment on their faces and words? But what their hands have collected was in all the opposite meaning to these deceptive appearances. It is as if these extremist, terrorist organizations had defied the whole world. As it'll be the first that has created the most horrible ways of killing, variation and formations, and the fastest of them in dropping the largest possible number of victims. Their crimes and terrorist operations have been varied from gunman killing with firearms to the bombing operations using booby-trapped cars equipped with a disastrous quantity of bombs they detonated amid the largest gathering or crowd of Iraqis citizens or the Iraqi government or men of the Iraqi special forces just to reassure that they have killed the largest possible number of Iraqis. These terrorist attacks have become like slaughtering raindrops falling on the heads of the Iraqi family and leading them to death. And there is no one to call for help.

From the rubble and ruins of Saddam Hussein, terrorism knocked violently on the doors of Iraq declaring that worrying level to the Iraqis from the company of death and terrorism came this time leaning on slaughter, killing, kidnapping, and bombings against the innocent civilians. Its emergence was intrusive as if it rushed to book a seat on an empty place and raced with the others to share it at a time when Iraq was in dire need for stability and security after suffering from multiple, successive and withering wars. The people got out rickety and unable to do anything in all this momentum of problems and terrorism appeared and planted its seat in times that have passed.

In day and night the Iraqi people lost the feeling of safe and peace, every feeling of that kind become a mirage except the feeling of fear and terror emanating from the continued terrorist attacks by this terrorists groups that owned the land of Iraq which become a powerless victim only trying to survive and it can't. These terrorist organizations practiced different types of murdering and criminality against the Iraqi people, it`s like a web of terrorist attacks comes and goes with new blood differs from the ex-one from the bleeding of the broken Iraqi people. A great pain owned the Iraqi people because of the horrible suffering they live in the existence of these terrorist bloody and savage attacks against the beautiful young people of Iraq.
