Yemeni authorities have stepped up security efforts to prevent al-Qaeda attacks on military and security installations across the country, the Yemeni Interior Ministry reported Sunday (July 22nd).
The ministry said in a statement on its website that it increased security measures after discovering "a terrorist plan aimed at attacking security and military sites and security checkpoints".
Security and military forces were recently targeted in armed attacks claimed by al-Qaeda.

There is no doubt that the danger of terrorism is not only affecting Yemen and its neighbors, but it also extends to all the Arab countries. All of us are like one body. If one of us is inflicted by a misfortune, there is a possibility that the other becomes inflicted with the same misfortune tomorrow. Terrorism is a sword that does not know anything about humanity. Yemen has been going through the worst circumstances that can occur to the human mind because of terrorism. Therefore, our brothers in Yemen found no other way in sight except running from the sword of terrorism in order to survive. They are now refugees all over the Arab world or prisoners amid the struggle between the Yemeni Army and the army of al-Qaeda terrorist organization. Whether in this situation or that situation, they are living under the worst and harshest conditions. They have the least of everything whether food, housing or electricity. They suffer from the lack of civil services including the healthcare services which they seldom have. None of them committed a crime for which he deserves such suffering and none of them chose to taste such humiliation or degradation. It causes heartache that all Arabs are silent and they do not move to save those poor helpless people who can do nothing except run to a place where they can keep their lives.

At first, I would like to point out that the Yemeni people are facing many crises and problems that are exacerbating the crisis in Yemen, and it is facing the most dangerous problems, most important of which is the deterioration of the living standards of the Yemeni people and widespread instability and insecurity, and the lack of peace of mind for the Yemeni people, and this is causing the economic and social conditions to worsen, which stresses the necessity of all the Arab countries to support Yemen so that the country can regain stability. As such, I call on the Arab countries to urgently cooperate with each other and lay out a comprehensive strategy on the part of all the groups in order to study the possibility of how they can offer help to the Yemeni people, whether it be material assistance in order to help solve the problems in the country, or food assistance, or medical, or any other forms of assistance that can help the Yemeni people to get back to their feet and restore peace and security there. If the Arab countries will really offer something to help Yemen, I urge them to study whether this help will be sufficient to meet the needs of the Yemeni people or not? If it is, then I would urge them to send in this assistance in order to satisfy all the needs of the Yemeni people.

Yemen and its great and noble people have created a brilliance that has been preserved by nations and the history of creation, which is the great civilization of Yemen and its noble people that have long strived to achieve the advancement of their nation. However, what has become of the situation currently is only the will of Allah, as he is the decision-maker and he control destinies. Currently, Yemen is experiencing a total breakdown in all the spheres of life, and this is where the decisive and fundamental role of the Arab countries comes in so as to become a real lifeline to the country of Yemen.
