Iraqi river police on Monday (July 23rd) arrested three gunmen attempting to enter the country from Syria by way of a small boat, officials said.

According to Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar, "River policemen arrested three Arab gunmen infiltrating Iraq on board a boat on the Euphrates River, where it enters Iraq."

He told Al-Shorfa, "The gunmen had money and different weapons in their possession, which were seized," adding that the suspects are currently under interrogation.
