Lebanese President Michel Sleiman on Monday (July 23rd) accused Syria of violating its territory after multiple explosions were reported along the country's eastern and northern borders, AFP reported.
In a statement, Sleiman "expressed his displeasure" after an explosion hit a house in the country's eastern region and shells fell along the northern border, hitting several villages.
He asked Lebanese "Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour to send a letter to Syria's ambassador to Lebanon, addressing the Syrian authorities, to protest this issue", the statement said.
Sleiman "also asked the army command and the relevant authorities to co-ordinate […] in order to avoid a repetition of these violations once and for all," the statement said.
