Al-Qaeda's wali in Hit was arrested, Iraqi police in Anbar province said Saturday (July 14th).

Maj. Gen. Hadi Razij, the Anbar police chief, told Al-Shorfa a joint army and police force arrested Mushtaq al-Hiti, al-Qaeda's wali in Hit, located 50 kilometres west of Ramadi.

Razij said security forces found al-Hiti in the village of Zawya. They also found three other gunmen, an explosives vest, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and maps of a military base, he said.

Al-Hiti confessed that al-Qaeda planned to strike the base using medium-range missiles, Razij said.

The importance of the arrest of the terrorist leaders resides in the fact that they are the ones giving all the orders, and they are the ones planning and giving orders to the terrorists under them who are of a younger age than them, and thus when one of the leaders of terrorism is arrested or dies, the whole group or network collapses, and it will never be able to become active again.
