Iraqi police in Anbar province repelled an attack by gunmen, killing one suspect outside Ramadi, officials said Thursday (July 12th).
Anbar police spokesperson Col. Rahim Zaban told Al-Shorfa that eight gunmen attacked a police foot patrol in the Dhara Dejla area, 30 kilometres northeast of Ramadi, wounding a police captain.
One gunman was killed in the clashes, he said, adding that another was wounded and subsequently arrested. Security forces are currently searching for the six other gunmen who fled, Zaban said.
