The second national reconciliation conference for Iraqi tribes began Friday (July 6th) in Baghdad, officials said.
Amer al-Khuzaie, the prime minister's national reconciliation advisor, told Al-Shorfa the conference "aims to resolve all old accumulated problems among different Iraqi tribes".
Representatives from Anbar, Karbala and Baghdad provinces will attend the seven-day conference, he said, adding that it seeks to encourage the tribes "to agree to respect the rule of law and use it in solving all problems and rejecting tribal habits that contradict it".
The conference is being held at Baghdad's al-Mansour Hotel, al-Khuzaie added.
