The UAE's Red Crescent launched an aid-collection campaign on Friday (June 29th) in support of Yemen, the UAE's Al-Ittihad reported.
The campaign, entitled "Sanadhom" (Support them), will run three days and aims to collect 500 million dirhams ($136 million) in public donations to meet food and medical supplies shortages in Yemen, according to a Red Crescent statement.
Workers were deployed to 167 sites, including commercial centres, banks, co-operatives and other government and private institutions across the UAE to collect donations, the statement said.
