Gunmen on Friday (June 29th) killed four Sahwa forces members and wounded four others in an attack south of Baqubah, the capital of Diyala province, local police reported.
Capt. Naji Abdullah of the Baqubah police told Al-Shorfa that "gunmen used machine guns to attack a checkpoint manned by Sahwa troops in the village of Sakrana, south of Baqubah, [Friday] morning".
"Police are investigating the attack, which carries al-Qaeda's fingerprints," he said.
