Egypt's Supreme Presidential Elections Commission said Saturday (June 23rd) that it will announce the official winner of the country's presidential election Sunday, AFP reported.
Farouq al-Sultan, the head of the commission, will announce the results at 3 p.m. Sunday, according to Hatem Bagato, the commission's secretary-general.
Both candidates, Ahmed Shafiq, the last prime minister under former President Hosni Mubarak, and Mohamed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood's candidate, claimed victory in the contest. The commission is the only body that can announce the official results.
