Iraqi forces in Ninawa province launched a large-scale manhunt Friday (June 22nd) for 11 suspected al-Qaeda gunmen involved in terrorist attacks in Mosul, police said.
"Security forces distributed the pictures and names of the wanted individuals in all neighbourhoods in town and asked residents to co-operate in arresting [these suspects] before they carry out other terrorist operations," said Col. Khalid al-Hamdani, Ninawa police spokesperson.
"The gunmen are still in town after [we secured] Mosul's exit and entry points," al-Hamdani said, adding that citizens will receive cash rewards for any information on the wanted men.
