Kuwait's constitutional court on Wednesday (June 20th) declared void the elections that put members of the current opposition-dominated National Assembly into parliament, Kuwait's official news agency (KUNA) reported.
The court then reinstated Kuwait's previous pro-government parliament, which the country's emir, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, dissolved last December.
KUNA said the court, whose rulings are final and cannot be challenged, ruled that the emir's decree inviting Kuwaitis to elect a new parliament on February 2nd was unconstitutional.
