Two people were killed and three others were wounded in a blast targeting a house owned by a Sahwa member in al-Qatun, west of Baquba, a military spokesperson said Monday (May 7th).
Lt. Col. Mustafa Mohammed of Diyala operations command told Al-Shorfa that unidentified gunmen attacked Munir Abdullah's house using improvised explosive devices. The blasts killed Abdullah and his three-year-old child, and wounded his wife and his two other children.
Mohammed said the house almost collapsed after the blast, and that police are attempting to identify the perpetrators.
