Unidentified assailants attacked an anti-military protest near the defence ministry in Cairo Wednesday (May 2nd), killing 20 and injuring dozens of others, AFP reported.

The Egyptian army deployed troops to central Cairo to quell the clashes, which have now halted.

The protesters are demanding the end of the military council's rule.

Also on Wednesday, Egypt's military chief of staff Sami Enan said the army may transfer power to an elected president on May 24th if the election is decided in the first round.

The military had previously said it would transfer power by the end of June.

The events that took place in Egypt during the revolution have changed a lot of things in Egyptians who are expected to change the situation now given that the things which they have witnessed would urge them to think of the future. We are the best and I pray Allah all the success and all the best. God willing, the coming days will be the best proof on their superiority and success in all issues. I personally call on them to work more and become from those who want to make their homeland the place of wealth, peace and stability… Bearing in mind all the events that faced Egyptians, the latter are expected to learn the lesson. They should learn how to repair the destroyed things both in their lives and countries. Therefore, the coming Government should have been aware of the demands and hopes of Egyptians. Thus, it must make Egypt a very different country and do its best to make Egypt a respectable State that works on carrying out good things and reforms. May Allah grant them goodness and support them.

The Egyptians still have much work to do. O God! Guide them to what please you. As for the relationship between Egypt and the other countries, the people of Egypt must be organized and to avoid responding to the demagogues, because discipline if the foundation of success. The status of Egypt makes it in the spotlight for the whole world hence, the Egyptian people and the officials must be a good façade for their country before the world as to their readiness to the democracy. O God! Guide the people of Egypt and protect them from all evils. O God! Make their future full of success and progress. O God! Make their rulers pious, upright, and just to lead them towards stability and production. Amen, O Lord of the worlds. Our last call is: Praise be to Allah the Lord of the worlds.
