The campaign for Egypt's presidency began Monday (April 30th), AFP reported.
The 13 candidates vying for the office can now display posters in public and broadcast ads on television until May 21st. The first round of voting is scheduled for May 23-24th.
Each candidate will have 60 minutes of free airtime on television and radio to explain their campaign programme, according to Ahram Online. They will have a maximum spending limit of 10 million pounds ($1.7 million).
A second round of voting is scheduled for June 16-17th. The election winner is expected to assume authority from the ruling military council in June.
