The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) will give Jordan a $1.6 million grant to support the education of Syrian students in Jordanian schools, AFP reported.
An official statement said the agreement, which Jordan signed on Tuesday (April 3rd) with the UN agency, includes "subsidising school fees, textbooks prices, rented schools, booster classes and social activities".
Jaafar Hassan, Jordan's Minister of Planning and International Co-operation, said there are 5,500 Syrian students in Jordanian schools.
