A high committee to reconcile Iraqi tribes that have disputes with each other will be formed in the near future, the Iraqi government said Saturday (March 31st).
The committee will consists of clerics from various religions and sects, politicians, tribesmen and security leaders, the government's national reconciliation advisor Amer al-Khuzaie told Al-Shorfa.
Problems between the tribes came about because of violence by terrorists, who come from specific tribes, disputes related to water and agricultural land, and problems caused by murders, revenge and other disputes dating back several years, al-Khuzaie said.
The committee is the first of its type in Iraq, he said.
