An Iraqi army officer was killed by sniper fire Tuesday morning east of Fallujah, Anbar police said.
Anbar police spokesperson Maj. Hamid Zaban told Al-Shorfa that the army officer, a captain, was killed by a sniper who fired from a tall building in the town of Annaz.
Zaban said that following the attack, which was blamed on al-Qaeda, police arrested three individuals suspected of involvement in the killing.
