Kuwaiti governmental organisation Zakat House and non-governmental organisation Direct Aid signed a contract Wednesday (March 21st) to handle the re-settlement of Somalis who were displaced by the drought in the Horn of Africa, Kuwait's official news agency (KUNA) reported.

The total cost of the project is 508,600 Kuwaiti dinars ($1.8 million).

Abdul Qadir al-Ajeel, general manager of Zakat House, said the goal of the project is to provide sufficient food for displaced people for three months and give livestock to 3,064 families who were affected by the drought in Somalia.
