Saudi national Ali Bin Abdullah al-Khalaewi arrived in Jeddah after being acquitted of terrorism charges in the 2010 bombing of two luxury hotels in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta in which seven were killed and 50 others were wounded, Saudi Arabia's Okaz daily reported Saturday (February 18th.)

According to the newspaper, al-Khalaewi spent almost two years in prison during deliberations and arguments between the Indonesian public prosecution and his defense team that was appointed by the Saudi embassy in Jakarta. The case ended with the Appeal Court and Supreme Court passing verdicts acquitting him of all charges.

The newspaper said that the Saudi Foreign Ministry and Saudi Embassy in Jakarta exerted much effort in defending the Saudi citizen's rights.
