Two civilians were killed and one was wounded when a motorcycle bomb exploded near a store in central Baquba, Iraqi police in Diyala province said Saturday (February 18th).
Lt. Col. Ghaleb al-Karkhi, spokesperson for the Diyala police, told Al-Shorfa the explosion occurred Saturday morning when civilians were trying to move the motorcycle away from the store's front door prior to opening of the market at 8 a.m.
The store was used for selling military uniforms and maintenance and repair of weapons.
He said the blast, which ignited a huge fire in the market, caused substantial damage. Police surrounded the area and opened an investigation into the attack.
