Iraqi police in Kirkuk province arrested a suspected senior al-Qaeda leader and three of his aides Tuesday (February 14th) during a security operation conducted in the province's southern region.

"Police obtained information from some al-Qaeda detainees that led them to a building in al-Fatha village, Hawija district where four suspected members of al-Qaeda, including Abd Sabbar, a senior al-Qaeda leader, and three of his aides were hiding," Lt. Col. Salam al-Jaf, spokesperson for Kirkuk police, told Al-Shorfa.

He said all of the detainees are wanted in connection with various terrorism charges.
