UAE ranked second worldwide in 2011 for the second year in a row among countries that constructed buildings taller than 200 metres, al-Ittihad reported Friday (February 3rd).
In its annual report on the world's tall buildings, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat said the UAE completed 16 skyscrapers in 2011, of which nine were in Abu Dhabi.
According to the report, the UAE made huge strides in constructing tall buildings. A decade ago, it had three towers, and now it is home to 60 towers.
Abu Dhabi had 56% of the total number of tall buildings that were completed in the UAE in 2011.
