Iraqi army forces in Ninawa arrested 23 suspects for illegally entering the country, including five individuals wanted on terrorism charges, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Tuesday (January 24th).
Maj. Gen. Mohammed al-Askari, the ministry's official spokesperson, said the suspects entered Bani Saba Rabia, west of Mosul, via the Syrian border.
He said that among the terrorism suspects were three Syrians, one Tunisian and one Iraqi. One of five was disguised in women's clothes. The remaining detainees are Iraqis.
