The executive director of the World Food Programme (WFP) said 60 countries benefited from Saudi donations in 2011, the Saudi news agency reported.

Amir Mahmoud Abdulla said most of the countries that benefited were in Africa, such as Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia and Kenya, as well as other countries such as Haiti, Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

He added that Saudi Arabia's contributions not only helped in the purchase of food, but also in encouraging sustainable development projects for food production.
