The Syrian Revolution General Commission said Wednesday (November 30th) that 12 civilians were killed in clashes with government forces when tanks and military vehicles stormed towns and villages in Rif Dimashq, Hama and Homs.
According to the commission, six people were killed in Rif Dimashq, five in Homs and one in Hama, and many people were wounded.
Meanwhile, government spokesperson Adnan Mahmoud said the government took preventive measures and procedures to reduce the impact of economic sanctions imposed by the Arab League, al-Hayat daily reported Wednesday.
"The government has examined a host of measures and procedures to deal with the consequences of these sanctions and their reflections on the national economy, citizens' interests, economic and service institutions, and all other state sectors," Mahmoud told the newspaper.
Mahmoud said the government's measures include looking for alternative markets to export Syrian commodities, and asking the Ministry of Economy to strengthen measures to control prices.
