The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development is supporting reconstruction and infrastructure repair projects in Lebanon, Nawaf al-Dabbous, a representative of the Kuwaiti development fund, told Kuwait News Agency Friday (November 18th).
"Kuwait's participation in the process of development in Lebanon stems from a firm belief in the profound brotherly relations between the two countries," al-Dabbous said.
One of the projects the fund supports is the repair of the Hazmieh-Sofar road, which al-Dabbous said would help solve the chronic traffic problem and ease transportation between Beirut and Mount Lebanon.
The project includes repairing the existing road, which extends 24 kilometres from the eastern entrance of Beirut up to the Hazmieh intersection, repairing intersections and overhead bridges, as well as renovating existing installations, road lighting and road safety signs.
