Kuwait donates $250,000 to humanitarian projects in Somalia

Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Dharar Razouqi, said Wednesday (November 16th) that Kuwait has donated $250,000 to support relief groups working in Somalia, the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) announced.

Kuwait donated the money to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to fund the Federation's projects in Somalia.

Razouqi stressed "the importance of allocating these donations to the execution of projects concerned with health, education and the improvement of living conditions of populations".

According to Razouqi, Kuwait also plans to donate another $250,000 to the UN High Commission for Refugees to support Somalia.
