Iraqi security forces arrested 10 suspects in security operations launched in Baghdad and Diyala on Tuesday (October 25th), security officials told Al-Shorfa.

In Diyala, security forces arrested nine suspects during search and raid operations launched in Baqubah, Balad Ruz, Abbara sub-district and Khalis district.

"The detainees include four people wanted by the Iraqi judiciary and accused of carrying out terrorist operations," Col. Ali Hamid al-Daini of the Diyala Operations Command said. "The rest are suspected of committing armed robberies, thefts, forgeries and drug dealing."

Al-Daini told Al-Shorfa that security forces found important documents and information during the raids. These materials are being checked and analysed.

"Such documents and information will greatly benefit us in cracking down on the rest of terrorist groups in the province," he said.

In Baghdad, security forces arrested a suspected terrorist during a security operation launched in the central area of Sidiyah.

Baghdad police spokesperson Lt. Col. Mushtaq Talib told Al-Shorfa that Iraqi forces launched the security operation based on intelligence confirming that there was a weapons cache at a house in Sidiyah.

"Inside the house, security forces found 12 anti-tank and anti-armour RPG-7s and a quantity of explosives," Talib said.

He said security forces also found a suspected terrorist who was arrested at the house and is now being investigated.
