Syrian military forces killed at least three people in Homs on Tuesday (September 6th) as the army continued its offensive, wire agencies reported.
Activists and the Local Co-ordination Committees said that armoured vehicles rolling through the streets were shooting at "anything moving". Residents hid inside their homes and offices, the LCC said in a statement.
Also on Tuesday, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon urged President Bashar Assad to undertake "bold and decisive measures before it's too late".
"It is already too late, in fact," he said. The UN should take "coherent measures", Ban said without elaborating.
France is pushing for more sanctions, with a seventh round "that would target economic entities", said French Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero.
